On Saturday, December 14, 2024, the New York Circle of Translators gathered to celebrate the season at Salam Café & Restaurant, where members enjoyed an afternoon of wine, delicious Middle Eastern cuisine, and lively conversation. With around 40 members in attendance, the holiday party was the perfect opportunity for old friends to reconnect and new faces to mingle, creating a warm and festive atmosphere.
One of the day’s highlights was the announcement of the election results. Milena Savova proudly shared that Viktoryia Baum was elected as NYCT’s new president, with Liz Herron-Sweet as vice president. Liz read a heartfelt message from Viktoryia expressing her enthusiasm for the role and her commitment to serving the organization.
Outgoing president Michelle Berrios was also honored during the event. Secretary Laura Rodríguez O’Dwyer gave a touching speech thanking Michelle for her dedication and leadership, which has helped shape NYCT into the thriving community it is today.
As we look forward to 2025, we are excited for the events, networking opportunities, and shared support that define our group. Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate the season—here’s to another wonderful year ahead!
